2026 Writing Plans + Prompts Requests
Dec. 27th, 2025 01:31 pm*UPDATE on January 2, 2026 - I just imported over from LJ, so I won't be editing previous journal entries from there, including LJ mentions below.*
I'm taking prompts for 500-word short stories in 2026. Feel free to drop one in the comments!
Obviously, I've been out of the LJ game for quite a few years. I have no idea if this is a good place to get ideas and prompts, but I want to try.
I still love to write fan fiction, so prompts and asks geared toward any fandoms you think I'd be familiar with are welcome. I may also write some original pieces with original characters.
My LiveJournal is private so that only friends can see posts. That won't change. Similarly, only tumblr users can see my tumblr and only Ao3 users can see my Ao3. You can probably guess the reasons why.
My self-imposed rules for 2026 are:
Each story is between 500-1000 words. One story posted to tumblr and LJ each week, on Fridays, with a total goal of 52 for the year. For any fandoms that are fulfilled multiple times, I'm going to wait until I have 3 stories in that fandom, then start posting to Ao3 in a series. I'll probably have an Ao3 collection for this project. I have big (negative) feelings about posting collected drabbles as one work with like, 50 character relationships tagged. It just doesn't work for me. But I'll find a system of organization that does work for me, and post them.
I'll keep a 2026 index post pinned to link each story as I post them, for ease of access (does LiveJournal let you pin posts? I feel like the answer may be yes).
That's about it! Hope to hear from you!
Here are my cover and story illustration for afteriwake's lovely Sherlock story! It's been so wonderful to work with her, and such fun to read.
